Wireline Logging: A brief history

Oil and gas lies beneath the earth’s surface, the experts cannot examine the rocks that it sits on personally. Consequently, they use wireline logging, as well as other strategies, to obtain measurements from beneath the surface. Wireline logging, also known as logging, measures properties such as conductivity and formation pressure, sonic properties, and wellbore dimensions, through electrical lines of wire. This is considered to be basic open hole logging system. The main purpose of wire logging is to help geologist in making real-time decisions about oil drilling operations. A wireline differs from other logs because it is a constant down-hole measurement, the way the tool is used by placing the sonde, which is located at the bottom of the wireline, into the desired depth and raising it back out the water. The measurements are taken on the way back up from the desired depth by trying to support the pressure that is on the line. As opposed to logging while drilling tools take measurements near bottom of the hole and recorded on the way down.

Once geologist have this information, which is presented on a graph, they can develop more efficient production plans. The logging instruments used for these jobs are normally based on electric, nuclear or acoustic measurements. They are all calibrated so gas and oil companies can have accurate reserve values. Although wireline logging is critical in the oil and gas industry, it alone is not capable of providing all the information needed to conduct a successful job. The wireline log is best used when it is paired with other analysis such as mudlings, measurements while drilling data, and production test. In order to achieve maximized proficiency in the oil and gas market, geologist and engineers need to continue to use this data as well as strengthen the capabilities of these tools. While the production and efficiency of these tools has increased tremendously there are improvements that can benefit this industry.

Cased-hole wireline logging was invented in 1927 by two gentlemen who were famously known as geophysics in France. Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger made history on September 5, 1927 when they paired with experimental physicist Henri Doll, in recording the first measurement. Eventually, after the great depression had passed, the brothers were able to bring their knowledge to the United States in September of 1934. The Schlumberger Well Surveying Corporation held their American companies offices in Houston, Texas. While Germany had control over France, they decided to move the main corporation from Paris to Houston, Texas.

Wireline Coring Developments

Wireline coring is something that people need to make sure they have taken care of when they are trying to deal with safety. The safety of a large oil well all comes down to the kind of wireline coring that you have done, and you need to make sure that you have set up a system that is going to make sure everyone is safe. You are going to get a lot of information from the wireline coring process, and you will be able to use the system to make your life easier.

There is a lot of information that is going to come from the wireline process, and you will have a great time trying to figure out what you need to know. There are some people who need to have these reports in at the exact right times, and it is also impressive to have this information ready to go when you need it. It is one of the most basic things that you can take care of, and you will be able to use the process on all your oil wells.

There are some oil wells that need to be serviced by professional wireline companies immediately, and you can see if they are going to produce for you. You will be ale to do this on all your sites, and you will be able to take care of the problems pretty quickly if you find them. This is one of the most important things that you can do, and you have to be sure that you have set up a system that is going to make your life as easy as possible. Remember that you can use the wireline process on all oil rigs, and you will have a much safer experience when you have logged everything the right way the first time.

Wireline Logging Services Market Predicted to be Worth $25.46 billion by 2019

A new report from WhaTech projects that the wireline logging services market will grow up from the current size of $15.58 billion in 2014 to a value of $25.46 billion by 2019. That is a combined annual growth rate of 10.3%. This growth is expected to fueled mainly by growth in the North American market. North America had about 45% of the global market in 2014. Wireline companies are likely to find many opportunities there because of the political and economic conditions.

The projected growth rate is projected to continue for several years for well-known factors. The main driving factor is the depletion of shallow water and onshore oil fields. Producers are being forced further offshore where High Temperature High Pressure (HTHP) conditions prevail. Those conditions make wireline services vital to producing oil.

Beyond that, global demand for oil and gas drives demand for the service. New additions to recoverable reserves, new exploration and drilling activities, and technological innovations in wireline logging all drive the market.

North America is a huge growth market because of sheer size, in part. Research and development activities in the United States and the favorable regulatory environment there have both helped the North American market grow to the current size.

A few conditions may constrain growth in the market. Strict environmental protection rules and regulations could slow growth. Public outcry about oil drilling is also seen as a major constraint for the wireline services industry.

The wireline market report from marketsandmarkets.com estimates growth from the demand side, broken down into several segments. The report also describes 10 wireline companies in detail. In addition, the report analyzes the market by wireline type (electricline and slackline), hole type (cased and open), and by region (North America, South America, Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific) so there is a wealth of information about trends and economic outlook from now through 2019.

Wastewater Management is Increasingly Important for Growth of the Market

This report covers the stainless steel global market. Control valves influence the fluid flow according to the signals it receives any external device that controls it. Another name that it is known by is “the final control element. The functions that it performs have a direct effect on the process of waste water management. People use stainless steel valves in order to control the liquid level, flow and pressure of fluid systems. This is done by opening and closing the valve, either in part or in full. They are very resistant to corrosive fluids as well as able to function no matter how hot or cold it gets which is why it is applied throughout many different verticals in the industry.

The valves measure under 2 inches in size. Actuation technology is the basis for the segmentation of the control valves industries. The study has covered North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe and other geographical segments in the world. Among the factors that drive the market for control valves are APAC applications which are increasing. With the right control valves being installed, there could be a decrease in the need for control valve repair services. The global increasing importance of waste water management is another factor that drives the growth of the control valves market. Scarcity of water for the surface is a large part of why waste water management has risen in importance.

Among other current trends in the global markets is the increase in energy demand. More demands are being made for upgrades in the facilities for waste management. Consumer electronics are one of the other products that are experiencing an increase in demands. One advantage to electric stainless steel control valves is the increase in efficiency and levels of controls that the other valves do not offer.
